Inflation Reduction Act Rebates on Heat Pumps

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) is offering rebates on heat pump purchases.

The IRA is a federal law that came into effect in 2022 that reserved $369 billion for climate and energy programs.

Heat pumps are a large part of this program as they heat & cool homes without using natural gas or coal, while reducing their carbon footprint.

The IRA is offering rebates on purchases of heat pumps of:
• $8,000 for families making 80% or less of their state’s median income
• $4,000 for families making 80-150% of their state’s median income

Tax credits are also available up to $2,000 for households that install heat pumps.

All of these rebates are available as of January 2023
